The oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks that this whiskey was finished in present themselves right up front with raisins dried figs marmalade blackcurrants leather cinnamon allspice and dried chile on the nose. The full somewhat tannic palate is savory and sweet all at once juxtaposing dark fruit ample spice figs raisins and marmalade with hazelnuts almonds mole sauce and tobacco. Transitioning into the finish peppery spice dried fruit dark chocolate mocha cigar and rich oak highlight the finesse and balance this whiskey pulls off with aplomb.
